Some nice Linux based podcasts

Goth Metal: Off late I've picked up Goth Metal. Well not goth per se, but Female vocalist based Goth Metal. I have had my earlier dosage of Theatre of Tragedy and the "Hamlet for a Slothful Vassel" is still a great song and is a regular on my playlists. The past month I have been googling a lot on Goth Metal, and the results are good. There's avery active community for this genre of metal. The best site I've come across so far is MillarWorld. Another good site is SonicCathedral which deals with *only* femme vocals based Goth Metal. Currently I'm hooked onto Nightwish and Leave's Eyes. I'm really in love with Liv Kristine's(Leave's Eyes) vocals.Liv was ex-vocalist on ToT and also did a number with CoF for Nymphetamine. She is really good and with the good blend of Goth she has to be the goth vocalist on the scene. The Nightwish chick has more haunting vocals but Nightwish comes across as a more mature band with better song struncture and mature lyrics. Also there's a good radio station available for Goth at: Goth Metal

Something's not right

You know something is not normal with you if you prefer to read this and laugh instead of answering your mother's call to come have breakfast.

OMG!! It has finally happened. Tiger now prowls on x86. In doing this Apple has managed to pull off the greatest marketing coups of 2005. More here I'm waiting for a good reliable torrent to get released.

The past three days (wed to fri) were hectic for me. I got to see what corporate life really is, and believe me its nothing like what is protrayed in those Citibank/British Airways commercials. I was in Bangalore on Wednesday for a Technology Council Meeting with Kris Gopalakrishnan, CTO of Infosys. The Tech Council is basically the Board of Directors and the Head of all the Business Units of Infosys. I cant tell you what we discussed as thats confidential but regarding the people who are on the top-brass of INfy Management all I can say is they are the best the IT sector has to offer. These guys are all worth millions and they prefer to stay in office till 9 PM. Imagine Kris, who has the maximum % of stake in Infosys staying back in office till 9 PM just to get work completed. After all, he was meeting a measely set of Software Engineers.. The other people in the Meet are all so humble and down to earth. They never made me feel as if I was not wanted. All this happened to a 9 months experienced guy who is not even confirmed. I'm not bragging here, just letting you know that in Infy anything is possible. People with much more exp arent so lucky. Here I was having tea with Kris and the other Board of Directors/IBU heads. The next two days I travelled to Bombay for a Indo-European Business Workshop on Open SOurce Software. I landed back in Chennai on Friday night dead tired and sick of laptops and PPT's.I had always craved for a laptop and now I know why companies give laptops to businessmen.
